Mud Bricks (or often called Compressed Earth Bricks, CEB) is a new vision, inspired from the Golden Oldies Mission (GOM) trips to Fiji over the past decade.
Our goals include:
- To create micro-enterprise benefits to informal settlements and villages to produce mud bricks for their own village housing and as a ‘cash crop’ to building suppliers.
- To train youth in building skills to construct cyclone-proof housing in Fiji and throughout the Pacific.
Recently we have gained supportive interest from the Anglican Church of Polynesia, NZ High Commission, the Fijian Government Housing Ministry, and a number of villages around Fiji’s two main Islands.
We have been experimenting with locally-sourced components, and working in partnership with our Fijian people to research to determine the best ‘ingredients’ and production methods.
